Leal Family Update 8/14/26

Dear Leal School Families,
We are very excited for school to start! We want to send some helpful reminders to begin the school year well. Most of this information is repeated from the last Leal Family Update.
As a reminder, Leal School hours are from 8:10 AM to 3:00 PM. Our doors open for students at 8:10 AM. Breakfast is served from 8:10 AM to 8:25 AM. We start watching students at 8:00 AM.

Leal's First Day of School:
Students in 1st through 5th grade start school on Monday, August 17th. Students can bring supplies with them on the first day if you were unable to attend the Back-to-School event on August 13th. Parents will not be able to walk their student(s) into the building on August 17th. All staff members will greet and help students find their way. Please remember that arrival and dismissal take longer the first week of school. Give yourself extra time. Please Show grace and patience as we learn new routines. Students with last names A-L will attend kindergarten on Monday, August 17th, and then on Wednesday-Friday. A-L kindergarten students willnot Attend on Tuesday the 18th. M-Z will attend starting on Tuesday, August 19th and continue every day after.
Arriving at School:
School staff will supervise students starting at 8 a.m. each day. Please do not drop off students before this time. Kindergarten and 5th Grade students should line up and enter the school through the main entrance, Door 1. 1st and 2nd Grade students should line up and enter through Door 2. 3rd and 4th Grade students should line up and enter through Door 4. Please look at the map below.Oregon Street is also a one-way street heading west from 7:50 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. For families dropping off students using the car line, please do not leave your car. Pull up to the farthest orange cone on Oregon Street.
Leaving School:
Please tell our classroom teachers and office staff if you need to change your usual way of leaving school. Please do this by 1 p.m. at the latest. All car riders will leave from the front of the school. They will wait near Oregon Street to be picked up. Please do not leave your car. Pull up to the farthest orange cone on Oregon Street. Oregon Street is also one way, going west, from 2:50 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Kindergarten walkers will leave from the main entrance, Door 1, on Leal Street. All walkers in 1st to 5th grade will leave from Door 2 on Cedar Street.
